Denise Hammel has dedicated over two decades to the nursing profession, holding various roles across the health care sector, including senior homes and Alzheimer’s care facilities. Recently, she has served as the director of two health care organizations.
From 2003 to 2018, Ms. Hammel worked with elderly and Alzheimer’s patients. In 2018, she joined a rehabilitation organization as a liaison. By 2021, she was appointed director of health and wellness at a New York senior living community, where she managed resident care, collaborated with families, supervised LPNs, and worked with physicians and therapists.
Since 2023, Ms. Hammel has been overseeing a palliative care program at a hospice. Her duties include coordinating in-patient services, educating the community on palliative care benefits, and monitoring operational data. She also manages electronic health records.
Ms. Hammel holds an LPN license, an associate’s degree in nursing, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In her free time, she enjoys walking, biking, traveling, kayaking, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends.
